Haley Jumpin off the boat.

Here's 90% of the weekend right in this picture..... the house boat consisted of the kids making a loop from the boat... jump from the boat into the water.... walk to the front of the boat, climb up the ladder... rinse and repeat X 1347 times.

Gabriel rides a Jet Ski!

So, one of Andrew's dad's friends visits the house boat via Jet Ski. and asks "Who wants a ride on a Jet Ski?" And... shockingly Gabe throws his arm up "Me me me I want to ride a Jet Ski"

Ow Me Arms!

Lil update on my Da, he's doing well. As long as he can re qualify on his tactical test in a few months +/- a few weeks his job will be waiting on him when he gets back. He saw the doc yesterday, X-rays came back good and he seems to be healing well.

Thank you for your prayers!

Both my Dad & Tommy are doing well. Tommy is more scraped up from road rash but will be fine. Dad on the other hand broke both arms. His left arm is in a split...and his right they had to put some pins in to aid with keeping things together. But overall things appear to be good... well, aside from not being able to use your arms for a few months. Dad is now at home doped up but doing well.

But here's basically what happened, Dad & Tommy are riding their deathtraps... err...i mean motorcycles around TN, having a good time... when Farmer Joe pulls out onto the highway with his horse trailer (not looking/paying attn). Dad & Tommy both slammed on their breaks to avoid a collision... the sudden breaking forced both bikes into a slide. I'm unclear on all the details, but they were able to avoid impact to Farmer Joe's vehicle, but at the expense of two borked arms and probably two totaled bikes and a layer or so of skin. But... did Farmer Joe do what any "decent" citizen of our country would do? Nope, the bastard and sped off without a word. Fortunately... unbeknownst to Farmer Joe... his neighbors happened to witness the whole thing and clearly saw his dumb ass pull out and cause the accidents AND speed away like nothing happened.

The bad news

I'll be asking you to pray for my dad and his friend tommy. Both were
riding their motorcycles in TN today when a horse trailer pulled out
in front of them. My dad suffered a broken arm but Tommy is in worse
shape. We have no details on Tommys condition but they are still
working on him as I type this.

Dad passes his Tactical portion of training!

My mom just passed this email to me:
"Dad sent me a text message about an hour ago and said "I did it", so I guess he completed the Tac eval test and passed. Maybe this evening we will get more information.
Thank you for your & anyone else's prayers because I truly believe that is the only way it happened!!!!!!!
I think next week will be his last week there."

Here's a lil more info on the Tactical portion of this training. It's lengthy, and you have to follow it to the book, but goes something like this:
1) You start off in a tower, with your AR15 Rifle, you fire 4 shots at moving targets 100 yards away.
2) You climb down the tower and swap to your hand gun and move to the 100 yard line, getting in the prone position and firing at stationary targets.
3) Move to the 75 yard line, take cover behind a barrcade in the kneeling position, firing 2 shots at stationary targets with your right hand... swap to your left and and do the same.
4) Reload and move to the 50 yard line. You're given multiple targets to fire at.... one will be a guy with a gun and the others are civvies.
5) Then you do a lot of the same but it's ever 5-10 yards... and somewhere in there someone yells "GAS" and you've gotta equip your gasmask and fire at two targets in under 15 seconds. I think the whole course time is like 7 minutes or something. Cool stuff.

Big grats Dad!

Say a prayer for my dad please :-)

Today and tomorrow will probably be the most grueling of exercises on him. It's a lot of climbing up towers, behind barrels, crates,etc... and shooting targets on the move, with each hand and weapon type. But more importantly, it's remembering the exact sequence, number of shots to fire, etc... at each station. Bleh... I probably couldn't remember all that and I'm a lot younger :-/ Good luck Dad!

Week 1 Down

So Gabe's first week has come and gone. He's loving school, so far his favorite things are "tools/building", "buying his own food (cafeteria)", "recess". He was all excited today, b/c they went to the library at school and they each got to pick a book to bring home for the weekend. This is Gabriel's first Library book ;-)
